Concannon Vineyard will teach you everything you need to know about giving Private Tours and Tasting experiences as well as our wines and history; however, we do expect you to have genuine interest and great enthusiasm for learning more about wine and to communicate the history and accomplishments of Concannon Vineyard. You must have excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, must be hospitality and sales- driven, and must enjoy conversing and interacting with people from around the world. Successful candidates will also be those who take personal leadership responsibility in providing outstanding service and friendliness that exceeds expectations with every customer in order to build authentic, loyal customer relationships and to increase wine and wine club membership sales.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Represent Concannon brand name, product, and services through Private Tour and Tasting interactions with all levels of guests, members, sales prospects, business partners, VIP groups, media, etc.
• Courteously greet customers and provide them with fun, educational and outstanding Private and Semi-Private wine tasting and Tour experiences that always far exceed expectations. This includes discussing the delicious distinctiveness of each varietal wine as well as any winemaking techniques, wine and food pairing, blending, Concannon history and/or pricing information that applies.
• Assist guests with wine, non-wine and other purchases. This may include transporting wine and non-wine to the customer’s vehicle from stock room or tasting room.
• Maintain a high level of relevant Concannon wine and Concannon Vineyard knowledge by remaining familiar with current press information, tour information, memos, marketing information and other wine related publications provided to you
• Maintain competence with computer functions, including retail POS systems
• Assist with outside tastings and winery events
• Answer telephones, process orders, and provide customer service
• Perform cashier operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Perform periodic wine and non-wine inventories
• Perform routine housekeeping, organization, and stocking tasks

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to perform tasks requiring walking, bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks for all of our indoor and outdoor Private Tour and Tasting venues

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be available to work weekends, special events and holidays
• Must have excellent performance and attendance. Employees with current corrective actions are not eligible to perform Estate Ambassador duties until the corrective action has been remedied
• Advanced wine and winery knowledge

• Strong social, written, and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional Customer service and or retail experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Being a friendly and helpful team player in a fast-paced environment that often demands multi-tasking
• Being a respectful team player that contributes to a positive work experience that everyone is proud of and enjoys being part of
• Commitment to follow all Company procedures and policies
