Job Description:
Imagery Estate Winery in Glen Ellen is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our harvest team.
We process about 2800 tons for our sister winery, Benziger, and focus on Certified Sustainable Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot. We are a team of well organized, positive, hard working folks who focus on keeping quality at the highest level while being efficient in the process and thorough in our winemaking.
Previous experience is preferred but will train the right person. The work is typical cellar work with pump overs, pressing, crushing, digging out fermentors, barrel work, shipping, racking and a lot of cleaning. Must be able to follow instructions, be a self starter and work well in a team environment. We require long hours (with overtime) and availability to work 6 days a week. Must be flexible to work any day of the week and any shift. The job is physically demanding and involves lifting 50lbs, pulling, pushing, digging, climbing ladders or stairs, standing for long periods, and working outside in all weather conditions. Depending on the season, the positions usually start in August and could last through November.
Salary is paid per hour and is dependent on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain proper sanitation of Tanks/Equipment
- Barrel work: racking, blending, topping, prepping
- Pump overs, press operation, lees filtering, receiving fruit, yeasting, nutrient additions, barrel downs, dig outs etc.
- Record and maintain accurate production records
- Cleaning crush pad
Requirements:
- Understand winemaking practices
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Great attitude
- Forklift experience a plus
