Lab/Assistant Winemaker (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

We are seeking a full time assistant winemaker to join our dedicated team. This position will focus on lab work but will also be involved with all facets of the cellar.

Job duties include:
•  Previous experience in lab/cellar mandatory
•  Have an understanding of fruit processing and fermentation
•  Perform chemical tests on juices and wines, as directed
•  Monitor fermentations (Brix and temperature) in tanks and barrels
•  Test berry samples for maturity level (Brix, pH, acidity)
•  Assist in receiving and processing fruit, sorting, pressing, etc.
•  General sanitation of winery and equipment 
•  Make additions to juice, must and wine
•  Perform pump-overs
•  Rack juice from tank to tank
•  Barrel filling, topping and stirring
•  Monitor fermentation as needed
•  Press grapes
•  Remove pomace from tanks and presses
•  Other duties as needed

Successful candidates must:
•  Exhibit great attention to detail
•  Work well as a team member
•  Possess a positive attitude and a sense of humor
•  Be dependable and flexible to work overtime, weekends and holidays
•  Forklift skills/certification are a plus, but not necessary
•  Able to understand English: written and verbal directions
•  Able to perform strenuous physical labor 
•  Non-U.S. citizens must secure a J-1 Visa

Previous lab experience mandatory. Compensation based on experience.
