CALAIS Winery is a small high end Winery located in Hye, TX. We are looking for harvest interns for the 2017 season (September through late October) to work under French Winemaker Benjamin CALAIS. Our new underground wine cellar was completed in 2015 to produce high end wines from Texas grapes.
This is a great opportunity to participate in all aspects of harvest from harvesting to crush and fermentations in a small winery.
Job Description:
- Help monitor fermentations
- Perform punch downs
- Crushing/Sorting grapes
- Clean and sanitize all equipment
- Loading and unloading the press
- Filling tanks and barrels
Candidate should be able to
- Work flexible hours during the harvest period (including some evening and weekend work)
- Be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Be willing to learn new skills under the winemaker's supervision.
- Work as part of the existing CALAIS team
- Prior experience with Winemaking is not required but would be a plus.
