Hye Meadow Winery is a small boutique winery located in Hye, Texas that has their production, portion of vineyard, tasting room and events center located on premise. The winery specializes in production of premium wines made from Mediterranean varietals.
This is an salary, full time position under the supervision of our Cellar Master. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, hard working individual with a positive attitude who works well with others.
Duties:
As a small winery the duties will include all aspects of winery work, from the cellar, including: Cleaning equipment, topping, racking, punch-downs and pump-over's, fruit sorting, crushing, fermentation, etc. as well as facility and equipment maintenance plus data entry and the occasional winery errand.
Additionally as a small winery, some sales based duties will include interfacing with customers providing tours in production facility, customer discussions within tasting room, attending relevant pouring events, etc.
Candidates must be able to; work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment during harvest and or bottling that may include after hours, week-ends and overtime. During crush the Cellar Worker will work under the Cellar Master/ Assistant Winemaker in receiving grapes and all other stages of wine production including management of fermentations and barreling operations.
Candidates who can show the following. (1) taking the initiative, (2) working independently, (3) professional decorum, (4) working effectively with coworkers, will be given favorable consideration.
Qualifications:
* A valid driver's license, clean driving record.
* Drug Free.
* Must possess excellent English oral and written communication skills; proficiency in Spanish will be considered a plus.
* Physical ability to inspect all areas of the winery and lift up to 100 pounds.
* Be excited, willing to learn, positive attitude, high ethical standard.
