Job Description:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assistance with the daily lab functions of Waterfowl Winery. This position is responsible for providing the highest quality as it pertains to the winemaking process while ensuring safety and adhering to the integrity of the DWC processes and procedures. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  Perform daily analysis in a timely manner
•  Under the supervision of the Enologist/Lab Supervisor, responsible for assistance with all routine chemical & microbiological analyses from the vineyard to bottle:
- Grape analysis 
- White and red juice analysis
- Press analysis
- Fermentation tracking
- Barrel monitoring
- Post-bottling micro
•  Sample, analyze, & track: RS, ML, VA, alcohols, TA, pH, nopa, ammonia, pre & post-bottling micro, Brett QC
•  Responsible for entering & maintaining data in logbooks, Microsoft NAV, and Excel 
•  Prepare trials, including heat and cold stability trials, and blends upon request
•  Prepare solutions and maintain chemicals
•  Provide accurate current and historical data
•  Calibrate and maintain instrumentation
•  Routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of lab equipment
•  Troubleshoot protocols and instrumentation
•  Provide bottling support and support the cellar as needed
•  Ensure safety at all times

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
•  Basic lab skills
•  Good communication skills, written and verbal
•  Detail-oriented: ability to recognize numbers outside of tolerance, raise red flags, and ask questions
•  Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
•  Analytical and math skills required
•  Ability to multi-task
•  Must be a team player
•  Ability to stand for long periods of time
•  Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
