Tasting Room Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The Tasting Room Manager provides leadership for the onsite consumer brand experience, driving high margin revenue/volume, acquiring customers, and fostering customer loyalty. In addition, they provide strategic & operational leadership for retail sales & tastings.

·         Provide retail sales and hospitality leadership; building & guiding retail programs & operational strategies to convert visiting customers, driving revenue & volume depletions;

·         Ensure a superior on site brand experience through consistency in sales, service and operations;

·         Oversight of the daily operation of the retail room, including sales, inventory, customer service, operating & personnel management;

·         Proactively identify product, sales and customer trends in the tasting room through customer-, data- and experience-based insights; utilize those insights to consistently enhance the on-site customer experience and sales activities; 

·         Provide retail sales leadership in product planning and Tasting Room allocation conversations;

·         Oversee inventory planning, management and depletion monitoring for tasting room wine and merchandise;  

·         Identify weekly Wine Tasting Menu & Merchandising selections for the Tasting Room, utilizing customer, sales, inventory and organizational insights;

·         Display strong product knowledge and a passion for learning more about new, competitive and industry-relevant products; foster an environment of equally knowledgeable team members;

·         Prepare annual sales goals, budgets and strategies in alignment with the organizational strategy; effectively lead the team to meet Sales, Margin and TR-specific goals;

·         Develop and oversee incentives-based sales programs for TR staff, designed to increase revenue of targeted products and motivate customer-facing employees; 

·         Actively participate in employee training, development and delivery; ensure team participation in on-going sales and service training program (Passport Program);

·         In collaboration with the Wine Club Manager, ensure wine club program goals (new member acquisition, sales, loyalty & service goals) are realized on the Tasting Room floor

·         In collaboration with Marketing, develop programs and resources designed to:

o    Drive traffic and visitor counts;

o    Convert visitors to purchasing customers;

o    Ensure an excellent customer experience;
