Tasting Room Associate/Online Marketing Assistant (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

West Wines is a small family winery with estate vineyards in Dry Creek Valley next to Healdsburg, CA. The tasting room is next to our beautiful vineyard. This position is part time, primarily weekends as Tasting Room Associate as well as Online Marketing Associate where some activities can be spread out over the week. You are a person who loves to meet and service customers, enthusiastically educate about wine and winemaking both face to face and online. You also like the challenge of exceeding sales and wine club quotas by building the business.

An ideal candidate is a good communicator, a self-starter as well as a team player. You will work directly with the owners and tasting room lead as well as independently depending on the tasks.
Primary responsibilities include: visitor and customer relationship development, wine sales, Wine Club sign-ups, consumer education (winemaking and winegrowing), email and social media marketing, creation of marketing materials, event support, inventory maintenance and on-going customer communications. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets all visitors, pours wines for tasting and creates a memorable experience for visitors
Actively listens and connects with guests
Describes wines, winemaking techniques and winery history to customers.
Promotes and sells wine and Wine Club membership. Operates computer cash register
Opens, sets up and closes tasting room
Maintains tasting room and inventory
Assists in building up email and social media marketing. Assists in creating marketing materials and newsletters. Proactively learns about our winery and our wines
Works during winery events
Performs other duties as assigned by Winery Manager

Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old
Must be available to work weekends and winery events
Able to lift 45 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
Must have a passion for wine
Must be capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks at once
Must be available and willing to work weekends and some holidays
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel,  Adobe Illustrator or InDesign, POS systems e.g. VinNOW as well as social media applications
Previous tasting room and/or wine marketing experience is a big plus
