Preston Farm and Winery is an Organic & Biodynamic 6-7,000 case winery and working farm. Our estate is in Northern Dry Creek Valley, nine miles outside of Healdsburg. We are looking for a few interns to help us with the upcoming 2017 vintage.
Our wine making philosophy and strategy is based on minimal intervention, relying on the health and balanced growth of the vines to guide the process. Grapes are gently harvested by hand, fermentations proceed naturally without the addition of commercial yeasts or bacterial inoculation; the addition of sulfites is minimal.
Harvest work will be from late July to October, possibly longer. There could also be a chance to help with producing Olive Oil on our estate mill, as well as crushing and bottling hard cider!
Production work will include helping crush grapes, pumpovers and punchdowns, movements of last years and this years wine, topping, making biodynamic preparations, cleaning tanks and equipment, and pressing off; you will pretty much experience every aspect of wine making - maybe a little bottling as well...
Please be able to lift 50 lbs, be able to stand for long periods of time, be willing to work overtime ( we will most likely be working 6 day weeks in the thick of it ) and have a valid drivers license.
