Imagery Estate Winery in Glen Ellen is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our production team on a temporary basis. The position starts in mid to late May to cover pre-harvest  preparation and bottling tasks in the lab/production area, and then harvest lab until 2015 season is over.  This is a great opportunity to hone you supervisory / lab skills and run a winery lab.

We process about 2800 tons for our sister winery, Benziger, and focus on Certified Sustainable Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot. We are a team of well organized, positive, hard working folks who focus on keeping quality at the highest level while being efficient in the process and thorough in our winemaking.

The tasks include but not limited to:

·         Candidate must be flexible to work overtime and up to 6 days a week during harvest

·         Wine sampling

·         Wine Chemical/Microbiological Analysis (F/T SO2, VA by cash still, pH, TA, enzymatic testing, plating, etc.)

·         Make up blends, and set up wine trials as needed

·         Bulk wine tracking and analysis record keeping using AMS and Microsoft Excel

·         Generate Work Orders and communicate with Cellar to support the winemaker

·         Bottling QC observation at 3rd party bottlers

·         Shipping and bottling related paperwork

·         Lab/production material purchase to prepare for harvest

·         Hiring /training and supervising harvest lab temps (2)

·         Driving to other facilities to run errands

·         Ensure safe, clean and efficient work environment

·         Weighmaster

·         Monitoring of fermentation in tanks and barrels

·         yeasting

·         write work orders Nutrient/chemical addition

 

Requirement:

·         College level Chemistry, Biology or related field needed.

·         Previous winery lab experience (including harvest time) needed

·         Supervisory position experience is a big plus

·         Great communication skill in English both written and verbal

·         Great computer skill (Word, Excel, database – will train for AMS)

·         the ability to work outside in all weather conditions, lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, pull, push and stand for   long periods of time.
