Warehouse & Logistics Associate (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The Family Coppola is a high-energy, professional workplace dedicated to offering outstanding customer service, while having fun along the way. We are looking for individuals who are responsible for the expedient and accurate handling of wine and merchandise into and out of the warehouse facility. They will be responsible to perform all job duties in a safe manner and maintaining a safe and orderly working environment within Warehouse.

Warehouse (40%):

  • Daily shipping and receiving of products
  • Track and resolve shipping, warehouse, and carrier shipping errors, as well as damaged products claims by following general guidelines and seeking manager authority for exceptional or high cost deviations
  • Initiate outbound customer contact for late notification, reschedule requests, and any additional shipment information
  • Accurately enter orders and dispatch trucks in a timely and courteous manner
  • Daily monitoring of inventory, determine re-supply requirements and schedule replenishment deliveries
  • Build and manage relationships with carriers and dispatchers
  • Ensure tracking and tracing procedures are followed
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure product planning is effectively executed to meet service and cost commitments
  • Work cross-functionally to define and implement both our demand planning and inventory planning processes and system
  • Maintain an environment that is safe, professional and pleasant
  • Ensure the warehouse and warehouse equipment are patrolled and inspected for maintenance as required
  • Must be skilled in the use and care of supplied equipment

 

Logistics (30%)

  • Move merchandise by hand, hand truck, or forklift equipment to maintain continuous flow of merchandise
  • Unload and stock incoming merchandise, picking of outgoing merchandise, and loading of outbound trucks as needed
  • Check, verify, and audit merchandise and enter data into remote data terminal to ensure that ordered merchandise has been received and that merchandise is as ordered and not damaged or defective
  • Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise to enable merchandise to be relocated to appropriate area in warehouse
  • Operate a forklift and/or pallet jack, when needed, to move and put away merchandise, and replenishes pick areas identified by replenishment reports and various request for needed merchandise
  • Obtain customer orders identifying merchandise that has been requested, and fills merchandise order from on hand stock in warehouse
  • Load outgoing merchandise from shelves to pack tables, then into totes for transport
  • Report damages and vendor compliance issues to supervisor
  • Resolve problems or discrepancies with help from supervisor
  • Meet department demands without sacrificing quality
  • Ensure safety techniques are used in all aspects of daily work responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Inventory Control (20%)

  • Maintain appropriate levels of inventory on hand
  • Uphold established processes and procedures to ensure accurate inventory is being recorded
  • Accurately record inventory movements within established operating systems
  • Make suggestions to existing SOP’s to ensure best practices are being developed and executed
  • Perform monthly and quarterly physical counts of on hand inventory

Courier (10%)

  • Operate a vehicle for the delivery of mail, supplies, products and materials
  • Perform the delivery and pick-up of various items across multiple properties
  • Load and unload a delivery van using a variety of equipment
  • Ensure documents are delivered and entered accurately
  • Maintain route supply inventory to ensure prompt delivery of products and packages
  • Provide basic customer service by giving required information
  • Maintain delivery records
  • Perform mailroom duties
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail and packages
  • Communicate with main warehouse through a mobile device
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • One to three years related warehouse job experience preferred

Skills:

  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Microsoft Windows required
  • Highly organized, accurate and detail oriented
  • Ability to effectively manage time and tasks
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers verbally and in writing
  • Ability to make sound decisions that comply to company policies when dealing in adverse situations
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible with work schedule and daily duties
  • Ability to maintain positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with clients, carriers, coworkers and management

 

Physical:

  • Experience with related warehouse safety procedures is required
  • Familiarity with chemical handling preferred, but will be trained
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear 
  • The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb or balance.  The employee is occasionally required to sit
  • The employee will occasionally need to move heavy equipment or stand on a ladder  
  • The employee must frequently lift, move, push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Warehouse Environment:  

  • Employees are required to wear closed-toe shoes with good support every day
  • Employees are required to follow company established uniform and presentation standards
  • Must work in environmental conditions that include, but not limited to:
    • Wet and humid environments
    • Indoor environmental conditions with temperatures ranging from 50F to 75F
    • Exposure to noise, fumes, dirt, chemicals, odors, waste and dust
    • Other: (Includes licenses, certificates, age, etc.)

      • Forklift certification preferred
      • Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier
