Pacific NW Sales Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Elk Cove Vineyards is currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager to join our wholesale team. The Pacific NW Sales Manager serves as the key point of contact for Elk Cove Vineyards with trade customers within their defined geographic region. The position includes travel to communicate the ECV story and sales objectives. ECV is looking for an energetic and bright individual whose focus will be the brand development and sales growth in the key regional markets of Oregon, Washington, Idaho. This position is based at the winery in Oregon. High preference will be given to individuals with an established network in the greater Portland area.

Elk Cove Vineyards is a small, family owned winery that has been producing wines in the Willamette Valley for over 4 decades from our estate grown vineyards. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who passion lies in the production and consumption of fine wines.

Responsibilities:

General Sales 
•  Ongoing communication with VP of Sales & Marketing and other key staff
•  Manage inventory stock status for each distributor. Make recommendations to facilitate timely depletions. 

Distributor Communication
•  Monitor sales plan for each market in the geographic region. 
•  Regularly communicate with distributors regarding release schedule, goals and performance, relevant winery news. 
•  Monitor depletions, distributor pricing, on vs. off-premise sales, placements, performance of key sales people, samples/billbacks.
•  Conduct quarterly business reviews with distributors.
•  Make recommendations regarding change of distributors, brokers.
•  Research / Interview distributors for various markets. 

Travel in markets as needed 
•  Meet with distributor principals, sales managers. 
•  Call on key accounts. 
•  Work with salespeople. 
•  Make presentations to salespeople. 
•  Conduct server training seminars. 
•  Coordinate and participate in consumer tastings at retail wine accounts in PNW region
•  Participate in wine dinners, trade tastings, etc. 
•  Touch base with salespeople regarding samples, other needs
•  Prepare collateral materials (fact sheets, reviews, etc.) for work days/seminars
•  Prepare detailed report of trip including all sales calls and contacts with accounts, distributor sales reps, managers and principals. 

Marketing 
•  Work with VP of Sales & Marketing and Creative Director to determine what marketing tools/materials are needed.
•  Provide programs and incentive ideas for promoting sales in specific markets.
•  Field donation requests, related to or generated from the trade. 
•  Manage and/or host scheduled winery visits for the trade, including lunches, dinners, tours, tastings as appropriate.
•  Coordinate Winemaker Dinners and discuss with VP of Sales & Marketing as needed.
•  Participation in special events—auctions, tastings, etc. and discuss with VP of Sales & Marketing as needed. Assist with planning.
•  Community relations for promoting/furthering the Oregon wine story and ECV 

Office Duties
•  Update Distributor Contact Information.
•  Maintain email database of distributors and accounts for new release info and other communications.
•  Other duties as determined by the VP of Sales & Marketing

Qualifications:
•  Bachelor’s degree
•  4 years in wine sales, including wholesale sales with some wholesale management experience
•  5 years in the wine industry
•  Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel
•  Proficiency with sales management software, CRM software
