California Wine Merchants is looking for part time sales/everything associates to work at our shop Saturdays and some evenings. You MUST be able to work Saturdays from 1 to 6pm but weekday hours are somewhat flexible with a preference for Friday evenings until 8pm.
An ardent interest in wine, with a particular enthusiasm for California wines, is essential. This job is perfect for someone who is looking to break in to the wine industry or who just want to feed their passion by surrounding themselves with interesting wine and wine-savvy people for a few hours each week. Wine knowledge is a big plus. Candidates must be outgoing, confident, and sales oriented.
Primary responsibilities include getting to know our inventory and selling to customers on the floor and over the phone. Other responsibilities include using the point-of-sale, maintaining the website, e-commerce marketing, updating store signage, restocking, lifting and moving cases, store upkeep, and making a few local deliveries when necessary.
California Wine Merchants is the only wine store in New York dedicated to California wines and we also carry a distinct selection of specialty spirits. The shop has been praised in the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Decanter magazine, and Time Out New York. How cool is that?
