Claverach Farm & Vineyards is seeking a skilled vineyard worker/farm laborer for the 2017 season. Our farm is 300 acres in the Ozark hills just 20 miles southwest of St. Louis, Missouri. We have about 4 acres of fruits and vegetables and 5 acres of winegrapes.
Winter and early spring responsibilities will include forestry management, collecting and splitting firewood for our wood-burning furnace and wood oven, fence building/repair, pruning grapevines and other perennial crops, as well as dismantling, erecting, and repairing vineyard trellising.
Spring, summer, and fall responsibilities will include cultivating, mowing, weed-eating, grafting, spraying (with both tractor and backpack), canopy management, harvesting, and general grounds maintenance.
Requirements:
1. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
2. At least two years of vineyard or farming experience.
3. High proficiency at operating tractors and other heavy machinery.
4. High proficiency at operating a chainsaw.
Mechanical expertise would be a plus.
