Summary:
Oregon’s leading winery seeks a service-minded food and wine lover to manage its elegant on-site restaurant in one of the state’s most beautiful settings. This is a great opportunity for a restaurant manager to join the professional team at King Estate Winery, located in Eugene, Oregon. The successful candidate will have managed all aspects of front-of-the-house operations. A relentless pursuit of outstanding customer service is complemented by keen financial and business management skills. We seek someone to lead by example, with a strong ability to train as well as learn from others.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assure that the restaurant is running smoothly and that our guests receive an exemplary dining experience.
• Oversee all FOH staff, developing weekly staffing schedules
• Train all staff in the highest service standards and provide ongoing coaching
• Represent King Estate wines to our customers; have good knowledge of wine and King Estate wines in particular
• Develop and execute creative ways to utilize the restaurant year round. Make recommendations for food and wine events that will appeal to wine club members and the general public
Qualifications & Education:
• Minimum 3 years of restaurant management experience
• Must have knowledge of gourmet food and wine; work experience in the wine industry is strongly preferred.
• Training/degree in business, culinary arts or related field
• Strong computer and POS skills
• Proven record of providing outstanding customer service
• Experience with sustainable food practices and working with locally sourced products
• Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail, be highly organized and flexible with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Have excellent communication and customer service skills
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Have experience effectively managing staff, schedules, budgets and business practices
