Mid-Atlantic Market Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

The primary focus of the Mid-Atlantic Market Manager is to work with and manage King Estate’s business goals through communication and relationships. Market work with our Distributor partners and Distributor personnel will ensure that King Estate’s goals and profit objectives are achieved. The Market Manager will also be responsible for directly calling on the top key accounts throughout the region, to lead by example, and to develop key trade relationships while increasing distribution and volume across the King Estate portfolio of premium Pacific Northwest wines. The Mid-Atlantic Market Manager’s primary territory will be Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC and is expected to travel as required to oversee and manage accounts and distributors in the territory*. Secondary market work will be assigned as needed.

Essential Job Functions:
•  Target, develop, and expand key account relationships throughout the sales territory and in all trade channels including On- and Off- Independents, National Accounts, and Chains
•  60% in-market account interaction; 30% distributor interaction; 10% administration 
•  Regularly work all markets with key distributor personnel
•  Responsible for achieving annual case and accounts sold goals by market, by brand, by sku
•  Maintain Key Account files and monitor distributor inventory to attain goals; review market performance weekly by Channel, in cases, and in accounts sold
•  Present our Wines and priority programs regularly on sales meetings, conduct tastings and special events, wine dinners, and provide Education to trade and consumers about OR wines and KE’s pre-eminent position
•  Manage an annual P & L budget, T&E budget, and promotional and incentives budgets
•  Monitor competitive market activity and propose appropriate strategic responses

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of distributor and/or wine supplier experience in selling wine, building brands, and calling on customers (please do not apply otherwise)
- College Degree (preferred)
- Excellent wine knowledge, especially on Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris
- Chain Account and/or National Account relationships and experience an asset
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- Possess excellent planning/organizational skills with the ability to work independently
- Candidate must be professional, focused, goal oriented, and demonstrate a high level of integrity
- Requires strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet/Intranet navigation)
- Current valid driver license with clean record
- Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
- References requested

*Preferred base location for a home office is the Virginia / Maryland area, the candidate will not be relocated

This position reports to the Northeast Regional Sales Manager and is eligible for full company group insurance benefits. Salary dependent on experience.
