About Us
We are one of the top wineries and a growing event center in Connecticut, averaging 15 weddings and events each year, with a goal of 25 to 30. Our event location in Colchester, CT is on the peak of the hill overlooking 27 acres of grapevines with a 35 mile view of the New England countryside. We presently provide a complete event package, along with the top catering company in Connecticut, for tented events up to 400 guests, six months of the year and are growing nicely. We are looking for someone to help us grow even faster.

Position Description:
Responsible to the Managing Partner for the day to day sales operations and operational needs of the events. Your sole job is promoting the Winery and Vineyards booking corporate events, weddings and private events. You will be in charge of the social media budget and strategy to drive increased leads and more importantly increase our closing percentage. You will work with the regions wedding web sites and publications, Tour Operators and Corporations in the Hartford and Easter Connecticut area. You will have experience in outbound selling to the Area Hotels, Destination Companies, Convention & Visitor Bureaus/Associations, Meeting Planners and other relevant groups.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Respond to all incoming calls, emails and multiple web services driving prospective clients to book event appointments.
• Meet with perspective clients to tour our site and review our sales package and pricing.
• Book wedding and events for the venue. Enter prospective, tentative, and definite details in google docs as well as our POS
system.
• Create an aggressive outgoing call program to book events and raise the profile of the company among regional planners and
event purchasing personnel.
• Generate an Event Order, contracting the event specifications, follow-up with the wedding couple or Event Planner to secure
an executed/signed contract, deposit and contract payments.
• Coordinate with the catering company for a seamless hand-off.
• Communicate all event details to all departments of the winery via the weekly Reports, and Managers Meeting.
• Prior to the event, handle client communication pertaining to venue, pre event meetings or rehearsals with the client.
• Be available the day of the event.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Requirements:
• Minimum three years booking weddings, corporate and other special events.
• Work with the Hospitality industry with management experience in sales.
• Computer skills (word processing and spreadsheets) including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent written communication, verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to spend at least 50% of job generating outside sales.
• Proof of valid Driver's License and favorable driving record.
