Field Marketing Supervisor (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
• Hire, supervise, coach, develop, and motivate direct report(s) 
• Identify, communicate, and activate market opportunities, evaluate effectiveness, and recommend course corrections in retail programming, product portfolio, and point-of-sale (POS) tools 
• Aid the Marketing Manager on annual marketing plan with the goal of increasing product awareness and repeat trial, expanding share of mind, and growing revenue, particularly through campaigns, promotions, seasonal releases, and chain activations 
• Research, design, and activate marketing plans around industry trends, competition, sales data, and partnership opportunities 
• Train key stakeholders (distributors and retailers) on marketing campaigns, new products, brand stories, and display standards through:

  • Comprehensive field marketing plans
  • Sales-based collateral
  • Sensory and visual aids
  • Quarterly reviews
  • Annual business plans
  • Annual distributor summit

• Develop and maintain field budget, expense priorities, and total spends 
• Ensure consistent messaging, state-level compliance, and adherence to brand standards across the region through collaboration with the Creative Marketing Team
• Connect the Communications Team with local media representatives and opportunities 
• Enhance and mobilize GLBC’s branding presence, investment, and customer engagement initiatives for high level industry festivals (GABF, World Beer Fests, Great Taste, Savor), and across the region
• Oversee the company’s applications and entries in high level industry taste competitions (GABF, World Beer Cup, World Beer Championships)
• Provide administrative support as needed 
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: 
• Proficiency with computers, specifically Microsoft Office programs 
• Ability to operate in a team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record considered acceptable based on our insurance company’s matrix and reliable vehicle required
• Willingness to work flexible and extended hours as needed (including evenings and weekends)
• Willingness to travel out of area

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business management, or communications field required

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3-4 years of successful experience in a sales-generating field activity, such as experiential marketing, field marketing, merchandising, special promotions, or consumer behavior
  • Prior supervisory experience required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of and passion for the craft beer industry generally, and GLBC specifically
  • Must be able to work independently and execute planned priorities with little upfront direction
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task and meet deadlines with independent problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, with ability to give and accept honest and direct feedback
  • Solid written communication skills, particularly grammar, copywriting, and proofreading
