Managing Director of Chains Sales - Kroger (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Manage all aspects of Kroger’s business including sales, distribution, and programing budgets, with direct management of three National Directors, that call on assigned Kroger banners. 

Essential Functions:

• Work with Regional Vice Presidents on account updates to ensure proper forecasting.

• Strong link to Regional Directors of Chains to insure National Account initiatives are aligned and executed.

• Communicate/update SMWE executive management team on all aspects of Kroger’s business.

• Work in conjunction with marketing to create and implement programs in order to drive retail programing.

• Communicate account plans to operations, finance and marketing to ensure all parties are aligned.

• Develop vertical relationships with Kroger to position SMWE as the #1 premier fine wines company.

• Manage the National Directors proving leadership and developmental feedback to build a high functioning team.

• Execute/drive company plans to achieve desired results.

• Fiscal responsibility for team budgets including departmental and direct spending.

• Ensure proper tracking for programing, planning and distribution

• Oversee National retail pricing to ensure brand standards are within guidelines.

• Become the point person with distributors to align goals and expectations for sales numbers and distribution. Coordinate planning meetings with distributor account reps and SMWE team leads.

Working Conditions:

• Home based with heavy/moderate travel managing a team and calling on Kroger. Position will require nights and weekends for special events and customer outings.

Physical Requirements:

• Operate a vehicle (maintain a valid driver’s license) and the ability for air travel. 

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years calling on national retail chain accounts.

• People management.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, reconciliation and prioritization abilities/skills.

• Proficiency with MS Office with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint skills. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Able to work in a fast paced environment with multiple tasks and frequent deadlines.
