Seasonal position, begins August ends late November.
City Winery Chicago is seeking an experienced cellar hand for this harvest. Winery, brewery or dairy experience necessary.
Job begins in August with 20-30 hours/week moving to full-time in September, then full-time plus 5-20 hours of overtime per week during harvest (Oct to Nov).
Job to end in mid to late November.
Compensation to based upon qualifications and experience : $12-$15/hour.
Daily lunch provided by the winery during the harvest.
The position responsibilities include:
Receiving and sorting fruit
Operating a variety of winery equipment including pumps, filters, pallet jacks, punch down devises, etc.
Sanitation of pumps, hoses, tanks, barrels
Racking and blending wines
Punch downs and pump overs
Pressing
Barrel sanitation, filling and overall cooperage care.
Nutritional and yeast additions
Cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning -- this is harvest.
Forklift experience a plus but not required
