Delicato Family Vineyards has an exciting immediate career opportunity for a Bottling Maintenance Manager for our Manteca, CA winery.

POSITION PURPOSE

Under little or no supervision and acting on own initiative, this position is responsible for all aspects of Manteca bottling operations maintenance including managing a team providing 24 hr./day coverage, maintaining the overall condition of equipment/infrastructure, championing continuous improvement and providing strong leadership throughout the organization.  This position is also responsible for short and long term bottling equipment reliability, efficiency and overall performance. Key components of this position also include bottling facility and infrastructure reliability, collaboration and proactive communication between bottling and bottling maintenance in addition to other associated departments/individuals.

 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

·         Understands, communicates, and shares Company vision throughout division/organization and provide cross-functional perspective, direction, and support

·         Provides leadership and personal support; coaches, guides, nurtures and develops the right people; leads by example

·         Drives Company focus, manages culture, encourages strong work ethic, and fosters an environment of trust and respect

·         Develops group and individual performance plans in alignment with Company goals and objectives; communicates clearly defined individual and group objectives; maintains level of productivity in unit

·         Trains employees to do their job; sets standards for work performance

·         Monitors performance and provides feedback to direct reports through formal and informal performance feedback; regularly communicates with staff to achieve mutual understanding and desired results

·         Recognizes and addresses performance strengths and limitations of subordinates

·         Manages employee attendance to ensure compliance with Company standards; approve/monitor overtime

·         Communicates and supports Company policies and decisions in a positive manner

·         Develops staffing needs, selects new employees, makes recommendations in job evaluation and compensation, recommends termination actions

·         Conducts team meetings with department employees; includes monthly safety topic, ISO, DOE and other applicable training

·         Handles employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner

·         Provides employees with a safe, comfortable, and rewarding work environment

·         Prepares and monitors department budget

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·         Plans and executes all phases of preventative and reactive bottling maintenance adhering to quality, productivity, capacity, customer, compliance and budgetary standards

·         Ensures team is in place, trained and performing at optimal levels in order to deliver daily  bottling production requirements/standards and other essential deliverables

·         Champions clear communication among teams, peers and across departments to ensure unified direction, efficient  process execution, cross-functional collaboration and overall productivity/effectiveness

·         Supports and/or designs/initiates capital expenditure requests based on improving equipment and  process performance, increasing efficiency and/or lowering operating costs

·         Executes continuous improvement collaboration and champions initiatives that improve bottling processes, equipment performance, production capacity, package quality and related measures

·         Enforces Safety, HACCP, ISO, cGMP, DOE and other applicable business critical standards

 

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·         Actively participates in vendor selection process

·         Manages inventory controls of all parts, machinery, and supplies

·         Ensures all administrative tasks are accurately completed in a timely manner

·         Initiates weekly scheduling discussions to ensure efficient maintenance planning and scheduling

·         Maintains a high standard of housekeeping in the bottling maintenance and production areas utilizing the 5S Tool’s

·         Supports material testing processes for new product development initiatives

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree in business, food science or related field

·         7 to 10 years’ experience in bottling or high speed packaging

·         Requires in-depth experience in a high paced Lean production environment

·         5 to 7 years direct leadership and management in beverage manufacturing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Project management experience

·         Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook, AutoCAD)

·         Phone, facsimile, cell phone, forklift and bottling equipment knowledge

·         Understands process controllers, industrial electric requirements, mechanical repair, and fabrication

·         Experience with computerized maintenance management systems

Certificates and Licenses

·         Acceptable driving history with valid Driver’s License

WORKING CONDITIONS

·         General manufacturing plant work

·         At times, may work in noisy and dirty conditions

·         May be required to travel between job sites for project oversight
