Job Description:
Do you have a love of wine, and enjoy talking to people about it?
Join our team to ensure the highest quality service and wine experience in our Carmel-by-the-Sea Wine Tasting Room. A small family-owned winery, producing ultra-premium Estate wines, is looking for an exceptional and energetic Tasting Room Sales Associate who knows how to deliver excellent customer service while educating visitors about our wide array of wines and our unique company story.
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who is at ease in working with the public and has a desire to create a memorable wine tasting experience for our guests. You must be able to effectively suggest and sell wine and merchandise to customers. Ideal candidates will be friendly, sales-oriented individuals who operate well in a fast-paced retail environment while functioning as part of a team. Excellent verbal communication skills and a kind, personable demeanor are a must. This is a part-time job that may require weekend, evenings and holiday availability. Prior sales experience required.
Job Requirements:
-Ability to work weekends and some evenings. Needs to be available from 12 noon to 7:00pm.
-Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
-Wine knowledge and sales experience a plus.
-Ability to be a team player and to wear multiple hats in an environment that requires flexibility.
-Sales minded personality a plus.
-Strong organizational and people skills.
-Willingness to assist with other winery functions to include events, wine and retail inventory,
and other daily duties as given by the Office Manager.
-Must be 21+ years of age.
-Must be able to pass a background check.
-Able to lift 40 lbs on a regular basis and stand for extended periods of time.
-Ability to connect with diverse groups of individuals.
-Anticipate the needs of the Tasting Room (supplies, retail, forms & cleanup)
Hours: Part-time. Must be available from 12 noon to 7pm (weekdays & weekends)
BOE + wine club commissions
