(Wine Jobs:

Contract
Cana's Feast Winery
Carlton,
Oregon
Time/duration: likely to start around the first or second week of September (weather dependent), and could finish anywhere between the 2nd and fourth week of October.
Tasks: The work will involve cleaning, fruit sorting, punch-downs/cap management, fermentation monitoring, data recording, additions, barrel work… and more cleaning.
Varietals: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Arneis, Sangiovese, Primitivo, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Petite Verdot, Syrah (co-fermented with Viognier), Grenache, Mourvedre, Counoise.
Disposition: Candidate should be curious-minded, enjoy learning, and willing to get tired & dirty in the process of learning a broad range of wine-production essentials related to harvest & fermentation.
Other stuff: Regional vineyard trips optional. Rudimentary skills in speaking Spanish are considered a bonus. Candidate should be able to lift 40Lbs (or whatever the current amount is that we’re allowed to ask). This is a physically demanding job.
Compensation: This is a paid position. We’ll also feed you lunch (and dinner in the rare event that we work into the later hours), as we believe in the civilized habit of a sit-down, family-style, hot meal. Open invitation to picking the winemaking staffs’ brains (figuratively speaking) when time/task appropriate.
