We are seeking an individual with excellent hospitality/customer service skills and enthusiasm for creating a memorable guest experience to join our winery family.
Position Summary: Responsible for greeting winery visitors, pouring wines for tasting and promoting the sale of wine.
Job Responsibilities: (including but not limited to the following)
Offer exceptional customer service the minute guests walk through the door, greeting them enthusiastically and explaining the options available for tasting.
Host visitors in a cozy and casual setting by pouring wines, describing our wines, winemaking techniques and winery history as well as answering any questions our visitors may have.
Handle routine purchasing transactions, which includes operating cash registers, handling cash, gift certificate and credit card sales at any time during the day.
Prepare shipping documentation, when applicable, carefully following compliance guidelines and shipping procedures.
Perform opening/closing procedures, which includes counting registers in AM and PM and balancing at end of day, reconciling poured wines, following cash in and cash out procedures and ensuring that daily receipts and cash deposits are secure at the end of day.
Maintain supply of clean glasses, washing, drying and buffing racks of glasses throughout the day. Laundering the glass cloths is required as needed.
General housekeeping responsibilities to include cleaning the tasting room and related areas, wiping counters, keeping supplies organized.
Assist with all Vincent Arroyo Winery events.
Assist with office and administrative work as necessary.
Qualifications: Must be a Team Player and have excellent customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong organizational skills, problem solving skills & ability to multitask required. Must be flexible and willing to work in continually changing environment. Strong math aptitude, specifically as it relates to sales and cash register transactions is required.
Physical Requirements: Must be available to work weekends. Must be 21 years old, capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and capable of standing for long periods of time. Must be able to work in and around a winery cellar with occasional exposure to fumes and noises relative to normal winery operations.
