Hourglass Wine Company is seeking motivated interns to assist us with our 2017 harvest. We are a small production winery that focuses on production of ultra-premium estate wines. Our winemaking philosophy is based around building on traditional old world techniques with the most recent research and science to make best wines possible. We are looking for a candidate that has both an interest in learning in a small production environment with the winemakers, and a passion for hard work.
Responsibilities will include cleaning/sanitation, receiving and crushing fruit, additions, fermentation management including pumpovers and punchdowns, pressing, and barrel work.
The ideal candidate should have:
• Good communication and math skills
• Good manual dexterity
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work for long hours and in hot temperatures
• Ability to drive a fork-lift is a plus, but not required
• Previous harvest or cellar work is a plus, but not required.
This is a seasonal internship position at our winery in Napa Valley, between St Helena & Calistoga. The estimated time period for this position is from the end of August through November, but may vary depending on the vintage.
