Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits currently seeks a Senior Category Development Manager who possesses the below.

The role of the Senior Category Development Manager is to lead customer analytics and shelving strategy for our regional chain teams in our quest to become the most trusted Category Analysts in the industry by providing unique, insight based recommendations that benefit not only Deutsch, but our distributor and retailer partners. This role will report into the Customer Development Director.

Responsibilities:

 Thought leadership position, serving as first point of contact for all questions related to National and Regional Accounts share performance - requires regular communication and collaboration with VP’s of Regional/National chains, Retail Chain Directors and/or Managers.

 Leads, develops and coaches a Category Analyst to develop powerful selling stories that drive DFWS portfolio expansion, increase share of retailer items/shelf and increase the measurable quality of brand programming in our off-premise chains.

 Build multi-level retailer relationships and credibility by leveraging various data sources to identify retailer specific insights that can be supported with tactical initiatives that lead to category growth.

 Attend priority retailer account calls including “Top to Top” meetings, annual planning sessions, and critical innovation/distribution pitches.

 Develop relationships with distributor Category Management counterparts at SWS & Glazers and provide analytic insights and strategic direction to drive DFWS portfolio.

 Identify, pursue and manage strategic category/shelf management customer opportunities

 Proactively communicate category/segment risks and opportunities to sales leadership team.

 Actively coach Account Directors and Managers on the situational usage of Consumer and Syndicated Research with retailers for the advancement of the Deutsch portfolio within specific retailers.

Qualifications:

 10+ years category management experience (BevAlc industry experience and understanding of the 3-tier distribution system preferred)

 Minimum 2+ years of direct management experience

 Outstanding leadership skills; ability to teach others complex analytics; effective in coaching and leading team to higher performance levels

 Objective-oriented and focused individual who needs little direction or supervision. High energy level and enthusiasm are critical.

 Creative thinker with the ability to tell a story with data.

 Strong interpersonal savvy with experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders; ability to collaborate effectively with others and manage competing priorities

 Ability to develop and manage scope, timeline, work plan and deliverables for projects; manage incoming project requests and maintain project queue.

 Strong negotiating and sales skills.

 Excellent written and verbal skills plus strong presentation skills.

Education & Training:

 Bachelor's Degree required, MBA Preferred

 Experience in consumer product sales industry preferred

 Direct Data Analysis Training through IRI or Nielsen preferred
