Atwater Estate Vineyards is a family owned winery on Seneca Lake in the New York State Finger Lakes wine region. We produce 12,000 cases annually from our 60+ acres of estate grown grapes.  We are seeking a Full-time, Temporary Harvest Cellar Assistant for the 2016 harvest season.

Essential Responsibilities:

•  Equipment and Facility Cleaning and Sanitation

•  Grape Harvest, Sorting and Processing

•  Fermentation monitoring and maintenance

•  Punch Downs/Pump Overs

•  Barrel Preparation, Filling and Topping

•  Sampling of Juice and Wine for Analysis

•  Additions to Juice and Wine

•  Production Record Keeping

•  Pump Operation

•  High Pressure Steam Machine Operation

Minimum Requirements:

•  Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

•  Availability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary

•  Punctuality and strong work ethic.

•  A passion for wine making

+ Previous winery experience is a plus

+ Forklift experience is a plus

 

 

Time Frame: August to early-November, may be adjusted based on harvest conditions

Compensation based on experience.
