Cellar Hand (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Become a team member of Chateau Élan Winery and Resort as we grow to one of the most prestigious and prominent wineries on the east coast. A qualified candidate will have a strong work ethic paired with equal enthusiasm for quality customer service. This position will be responsible for a variety of tasks, such as operating crush and press equipment, operating pumps, stacking barrels, operating a forklift, filling and emptying barrels, making additions, and topping wine.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Perform cellar activities including inoculations, additions, racking, tank cleaning, bottling and canning of finished products
• Take part in all harvest activities, including fruit receipt, sorting, de-stemming and pressing
• Maintain the cellar to the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation at all times
• Cleaning, maintenance and repair of winery equipment
• Operation of a fork lift – training is available
• Assist in warehousing and shipping/receiving
• During Harvest (Sept-October) overtime, shift work and some weekends may be required

• Motivated and passionate about making high quality wine.
• Strong work ethic, with the ability to see a job through
• Work well with a team and independently and possess strong communication skills
• Able to work under pressure in a calm, efficient manner
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to lift 50 pounds and able to work at heights and in enclosed spaces at times.
• Ability to problem solve and prioritize tasks

Preference will be given to those with previous winery or brewery experience, however this is not a requirement as we are willing to train the right person. 

Must be eligible to work permanently in Georgia and 19+ years of age.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
