POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Merchandise Associate is responsible for general Tasting Room activities and assists with maintaining the food and retail assortment and presentation in the tasting room.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Retail Merchandise Functions:

  • Work with manager on planning, organizing, and executing on retail initiatives.
  • Execute weekly ordering of all merchandise and food.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory levels.
  • Make recommendations on new product assortment to satisfy customer requests and elevate the Oliver Winery brand.
  • Perform accurate detailed receiving and pricing of all food and retail merchandise.
  • Maintain stock room organization.
  • Support set up of all merchandise displays.
  • Maintain visual display and signage standards.
  • Participate in quarterly full physical inventories of food and merchandise.
  • Monitor and track sales and sell-through on a weekly basis.
  • Input retail data within our POS system and update regularly.
  • Maintain effective communication with vendors.
  • Additional duties, as assigned by Management. 

Standard Tasting Room Functions:

  • Greeting customers promptly and courteously.
  • Guiding customers to wines they enjoy.
  • Setting up and cleaning up daily operations and special events.
  • Stocking wine and retail merchandise in the tasting room.
  • Accurately performing daily inventory and money handling procedures.
  • Offer tours of the wine making facility.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in retail or customer service. Leadership and inventory experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Weekend and morning availability.
  • Solid math skills.
  • A strong interest in wine and winemaking.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Because of the nature of this position, must be at least 21 years of age to apply.

Typical Schedule: 25-30 hours a week, various shifts between 8 am- 8pm Sunday-Saturday. Generally 2-3 shifts weekday shifts and 1-2 weekend shifts.

Pay: $10/hour
