CELLAR HAND (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Job Summary:

Cellar Hand is to assist in preparing product to be shipped to customers. This position is physically demanding and requires repetitive bending, lifting and standing. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the process of packaging cider into kegs and cans.
• Ensure pallets are built according to the target defined by the Packaging Manager.
• Visually inspect all packaged product to the standards defined by the QA Manager.
• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with shipping and receiving. 
• Follow safe work standards in all tasks to prevent injury or damage to property and inventory. 
• Maintain a clean and safe work space, complying with Austin Eastciders’ policies and procedures. 

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Active listening and effective communication competencies
• Good physical condition
• Team Player
• Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities while focusing on detail

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Standing on feet all day.
• Heavy physical work (bending, kneeling, pulling hoses, etc.)
• Will work continuously on wet floors and with wet equipment
• Able to lift 20plus pounds on a repetitive basis
• Non Climate controlled warehouse
• Loud to moderate continuous noise in work area
• Will work with strong and often times hazardous chemicals
