Bartender I (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

DESCRIPTION:

The Bartender will greet guests in bar/lounge area and provide world class beverage and food service for the duration of their visit.  Duties will include: preparing beverages; processing orders and payment transactions; engaging guests; and coordinating service for assigned area(s).  Bartenders will deliver gracious hospitality and ensure all guests receive friendly, courteous and prompt service at all times following proscribed and established Biltmore service standards, and will provide general support for the restaurant team.

REQUIREMENT:

  • High school diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience bartending, preferably in an upscale or fine dining environment.
  • TIPS, ALE and other related training preferred the ability to obtain certification is required.
  • Ability to compute basic arithmetic.
  • Outstanding guest relations and communications skills; and pleasant personality is a must; should be comfortable interacting in a friendly and professional manner with a wide variety of internal and external guests.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering world class guest service and working as part of a dynamic team.
  • Must be able to present a professional image, both in appearance and demeanor, in accordance with Biltmore standards.
  • Focus attention on details, be well organized, maintain concentration and prioritize when providing service to guests.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, creatively problem solve, and proactively anticipate the needs of guests.
  • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge about the estate, special activities/events, and Asheville and surrounding areas.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements:

 

·     Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds. 

·     Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • The employee may work in a restaurant or kitchen environment that may include:
  1.  
    1. Variable temperature, conditions. and noise levels
    2. Outdoor environments
    3. Exposure to fumes, dust and chemicals
