Tasting Room Manager (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Jamieson Ranch Vineyards, located in the American Canyon hills once part of the historic Vallejo land grant, has an immediate opening for a Tasting Room Manager. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to provide leadership, support and training to our existing DTC team. 

In addition to managing the daily tasting room operations, this individual must have experience in retail compliance reporting, order processing and a strong background in DTC customer service and social media communications.

Under the direction of and in collaboration with the GM, this individual will oversee the following:

-Recruit, Train, Supervise and Evaluate Hospitality Associates and Wine Educators. Provide support and coaching as needed to improve and develop individual and group sales performance
- Conduct weekly staff meetings to discuss goals & performance
- Accurately manage/handle all sales transactions, including the opening, closing and daily operations of cash registers, and ensure all Associates can do the same
- Maintain accurate count of daily inventory and samples used in tasting room.
- Assist in planning and implementation of Wine Club and Hospitality events
- Work with the DTC Team to successfully execute the monthly, quarterly and yearly marketing calendar
- Work with Wine Club to develop membership experiences that deliver on-going loyalty as well as assisting w/ account maintenance and member management
- Collaborate with our Events Manager to assist in the creating of guest experiences for large groups
- Process all shipping orders (Visitor Center, phone & internet) and ensure that all orders are within states individual regulations
- Monthly Retail Compliance Reporting
- Create and promote new visitor experiences

Key Competencies & Job Requirements:

• Previous Tasting Room management/lead experience
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills
• Proven track record as a motivated and inspiring team leader
• Knowledge of wines and wine production
• PC skills including MS office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Internet browsers, etc. 
• Experience with Vin65 POS system
• Knowledge of ShipCompliant strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Strong background in SOP creation and back of the house process management
• Solid understanding of social media platforms, specifically Yelp and TripAdvisor
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must be 21 years of age or older

Physical Requirements: 
Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.; Able to stand for extended periods of time
