WINE STORE SALES & COMMUNICATIONS CANDIDATE - WINE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Despaña Vinos y Más, a boutique retail business environment specializing in wines & spirits from Spain, is looking for a Sales & Communications candidate. The candidate will be responsible for servicing clients and all other major duties within a retail environment plus promoting via community outreach and communication via social media platforms will be essential.
Candidate must be able to work independently as well as be team player in a small close knit environment. Candidate should be results-driven, sociable, enthusiastic, charismatic and motivated to increase sales and reach into the marketplace. The main focus of the position is to sell wine & spirits to existing customer base. The focus of communications/social media portion will be to increase customer base and marketplace outreach. The position will report directly to Despaña Vinos y Más Store Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Open/Close wine store and attend to all EOD functions
* Maintain and service existing customer base as well as bring in new customers
* Create materials for product specials and promotions, web posts, email blasts and social media
Requirements:
* Previous retail and/or customer service experience
* Team oriented and communication proficiency (both excellent written and verbal skills for effective communication)
* General knowledge of all major wine regions
* Spanish wine & food knowledge a plus
* Solid understanding of social media platforms
* General knowledge in writing blog posts and/or creative writing
* Independent thinker, with creative ideas and willing to take initiative within established guidelines
* Outgoing personality, professional and presentable manner to make customers feel welcome
* Good interpersonal and time management skills
* Ability to sell products with a good sense of relationship building
* Self-motivated with a flexible approach to the work required
* Must have a minimum 2-3 years wine experience
* Candidate must be able to provide references, two professional one related
Salary:
* Salary: Hourly start rate $16/hr.
* Postion: Part time
* Hours: 35hrs/week required
* Weekends a must (Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday)
* Base location in Soho, NYC
* Bi-lingual a plus
