We are seeking a hands-on Manager who happens to be passionate about Old world wine, to run our Madison Avenue wine bar. The bar serves a small plates menu highlighting local and seasonal ingredients. Our ideal candidate will have the energy, confidence and desire to lead, teach and inspire along with great love for food and wine and a particular interest in great service.
Skills and assets include:
-3+ years of restaurant experience
-Good wine and service knowledge.
-Excellent leadership and communication skills.
-Proficiency with restaurant software applications (POS/Aloha/Open Table/ Resy/Excel)
Essential Job Responsibilities
-Ensure the smooth daily running of the front of the house through scheduling and training of staff.
-Manage all matters relating to employees, recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and performance management. Weekly schedules and payroll for a dedicated small service staff.
-Be attentive to all aspects of the guest experience as needed to ensure excellence.
-Work with Executive Chef and Wine Director on daily menu.
-Maintaining current inventories of cellars, glasses and tabletop.
-Hold team accountable for achieving goals and maintaining high level of service.
-Oversee cash management procedures.
